CATALYST: Metal Injection Premieres âTo Unleash Thy Heinous Fateâ Video By French Technical Death Metal Act; A Different Painting For A New World LP Due In October Via Non Serviam Records

Metal Injection is hosting a new video for âTo Unleash Thy Heinous Fateâ by Metz, France-based death metal quartet CATALYST. The song represents the first single from the bandâs impending second album, A Different Painting For A New World, set for October release through Non Serviam Records.

Drums for CATALYSTâs A Different Painting For A New World were recorded at Boundless Productions Studio with engineers Flavien Morel and ClÃ©ment Denys, performed by former drummer Paul Loup who has since been replaced by StÃ©phane Petit. The rest of the instruments were recorded by the bandâs guitarist/vocalist Jules Kicka, bassist/backing vocalist Jefferson Brand, and guitarist/backing vocalist Florian Iochem, after which the tracks were mixed and mastered by HK Krauss at Vamacara Studio (Loudblast, Sinsaneum, Dagoba). The artistic direction of the albumâs impressive cover was entrusted to Vincent Fouquet from Above Chaos (Meshuggah, Moonsorrow, Kataklysm), highlighting the battle between The Creator and The Catalyst, illustrating several tracks of the album, with photography from Mathieu Ferrera.

The epic new video for âTo Unleash Thy Heinous Fateâ was directed by Vincent Tournaud with production by Mederic Havard and Jules Kicka and special effects by Mederic Havard.

The band offers, “CATALYST is excited to present you the first music video from this sophomore album, with the track ‘To Unleash Thy Heinous Fate!â Directed by Vincent Tournaud, this music video was shot during two days at the border between France and Luxembourg and aims to describe the first chapter of the story written for this album. Mederic Havard was hired to work on all the special effects of this video, creating a unique environment made of corpses elevating in the sky to match the vision of all humans looking up at the sky above them.

“The eight lords are here, at the edge of the cliff, helping out the Catalyst to get the dead off the ground and to project this horrific vision in the firmament. With this music video, we tried to give our best to match this part of the story and to be in harmony with the atmosphere of this brutal and light-speed soundscape.”

Premiering the video in the new installment of their popular Tech Death Tuesday column, Metal Injection writes, âVersatility is the name of the game on âTo Unleash Thy Heinous Fate,â this is a dense and eclectic work of art that draws from bands old and new. Combining and bridging the gap between all that is super sweep picking and tapping focused, serpentine-like melody-driven, absurdly brutal-minded, and delightfully prog-death-infused strains of tech-death.
